INVISIBLE VIDEOGRAPHS

Invisible Videographs is a selection of works in videoart, spanning from 2000 to 2005, consisting of the work of some of the most respected contemporary Latin American artists.

A partnership between the NGO Alta Tecnología Andia, Museo Patio Herrerianode Valladolid, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno and the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional, the exhibition is divided in five thematic blocks: “Music for the Eyes”, “Exercises in Forgetting”, “Impure Cinema”, “Habitat”, and “The Imaginary Enacted”.

DISSIDENT CARTOGRAPHIES

Curator: José Miguel G. Cortés


Seven artists and two Iberian-American groups, with audiovisual works especially conceived for the exhibition, set forth a perspective on several different cities: Caracas, São Paulo, Havana, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Bilbao. According to the curator, the project consists of a number of propositions which question the fixed ideas about urban planning, spatial organization and hierarchical values therein involved. The basic idea is to oppose fixed, immutable and static categories.

The exhibition is organizad by the Directory of Cultural and Scientific Relations of the Ministry of Foreign affaire and Coeepration of Spain, together with the Society for Cultural Action in foreign countries (SEACEX).
